About 9/11

  • On September 11, 2001, two planes flew into the World Trade Center in New York City, causing the tower to collapse. Around 3000 people died and thousands were wounded in what has been called the worst terrorist attack in American history.
  • Al-qaeda and its leader Osama Bin Ladn took responsibility for the terrorist attack and the US declared war on terror as a result, invading Afghanistan but a few months after the 9/11 attack.
  • Keynote speakers on 9/11 have a lot to offer. To this date we still remember September 11, or 9/11 as it is often called, and the day meant big changes, not only to Americans but all over the world. Many soldiers lost their lives in the war in Afghanistan – do we still need to fear terrorism and in what countries?
  • September 11 2001 was a turning point in the battle against terrorism. Keynote speakers on 9/11 might focus on the long term results of terror and the war against terror, on how 9/11 changed American identity or on starting debates and discussions on 9/11 and terror.
