About Anorexia
- Anorexia is a mental disorder resulting in eating disorders. Anorexia patients try to eat as little as possible, in the worst cases to the point where it is physically dangerous, even life-threatening.
- Most anorexia patients are teenage girls and in most cases anorexia is linked to a strong desire for self-control and the longing for the perfect body, thoughts that are often rooted in feelings of doubt and low self-esteem.
- It is often difficult to cure anorexia patients because, contrary to most other diseases, you are, in a sense, fighting the patient too because he or she will try to not eat. There are, however, doctors and hospitals specializing in anorexia.
