Kriss Akabusi Speaker

Interview with Kriss Akabusi

In this interview with A-Speakers, Kriss Akabusi talks about the world of business, how to success and how this all relates to sports. Read on below.

How does sports success translate into business success?

Sport like business is about competitive advantage. There are winners and there are losers. There are rules to the game and there is a natural life cycle. Sportsmen are very clear about their goals and their targets as well as their key strengths and weaknesses.

How are your keynotes unique?

My keynotes are unique because like everybody in the world I am unique, but general feedback from my customer base is that I am engaging, I am fun but my information is relevant.
I use anecdotes, stories, poetry and humor to get across my message and I interview the conference owner and relevant business personnel before the event to ensure I hit the business messages.

Can you give event planners 3 reasons to use you as a motivational speaker for their next event?

  1. I am up to date and relevant
  2. I have multiple experiences personally, of key transitions and am going through one at the moment with my MBA
  3. I have 20 years experience as a professional speaker covering a multitude of businesses, industries and organisations

What are some of the elements necessary for people and businesses to succeed?

The ability to embrace change for it is the only constant. A clarity of not only what they do, but what they don’t do An insight from the customer’s perspective of their key offering.

What makes you such a successful motivational speaker?

I am prepared to be in the moment. I have a natural effervescence and energy, and I do my research. I understand the customer is the star and I am the helping hand.
I understand that there are a variety of customers. There is the conference organiser who wants to know their stage and that their job is safe in my hands. There is the conference exchequer, who is paying the bill and they want ‘bang for their bucks’ and that’s determined by them. Finally there is the delegate sitting in the room who wants you to be exciting, engaging, funny and relevant.
