Larry Kasanoff is a producer, studio head, and global speaker whose career spans blockbuster films, animation, music, and location-based entertainment. As Chairman and CEO of Threshold Entertainment Group, he has helped build some of the most recognizable franchises in modern entertainment. From Mortal Kombat to Terminator 2: Judgment Day and True Lies, Larry’s work sits at the intersection of creativity, technology, and commercial success.
Larry Kasanoff is Chairman and CEO of Threshold Entertainment Group, where he develops feature films, animated projects, and location-based entertainment attractions. Over his career as a producer and studio head, he has been involved in more than 200 feature films and has raised well over a billion dollars in the film business. His work spans live-action blockbusters, animation, music-driven projects, and immersive theme park experiences.
Larry is the Producer or Executive Producer of Mortal Kombat, including three number one films, a television series, an animated TV series, a platinum-selling soundtrack, and a live tour that launched at Radio City Music Hall. The Mortal Kombat brand continues to expand, with a new Mortal Kombat movie scheduled for release in summer ’26. His experience building this franchise across film, television, music, and live events gives Larry a rare perspective on long-term brand creation and audience engagement.
As Executive Producer, Larry helped bring the box office smash True Lies to the screen, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by James Cameron. The film also became one of the earliest Western hit movies in China. Earlier, as President and Co-Founder of Lightstorm Entertainment, Larry supervised production, marketing, publicity, and merchandising for Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the four-time Academy Award-winning film directed by James Cameron.
Larry also served as Executive Producer on Strange Days and Blue Steel, both directed by Academy Award-winning director Kathryn Bigelow. As a producer or studio head, his filmography includes Dirty Dancing, featuring the number one multi-artist soundtrack in history, and Platoon, winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture.
In animation, Larry has produced projects such as LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out and Bobbleheads: The Movie, starring Cher. He recently announced a new animation venture, The Cartoon Coalition, bringing together animation superstars to combine emerging technology with creative storytelling. This work reflects Larry’s ongoing focus on innovation and the evolution of content creation.
Larry has also created location-based entertainment and theme park attractions, including Star Trek: The Borg Experience, Marvel Superheroes 4D, and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. In the music world, he has produced or packaged video projects with Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, and Elton John. For Terminator 2, he produced MTV’s top fan video of the year, “You Could Be Mine,” with Guns N’ Roses.
Larry produced and directed the feature documentary Mindfulness: Be Happy Now, starring Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and Deepak Chopra. He is also the author of two books: A Touch of the Madness – How to Be More Innovative by Being a Little Crazy and the photography book Malibu Blonde, which reached number one on Amazon.
Larry speaks around the world, including in China, Spain, Africa, Israel, and the United States. His keynotes focus on innovation, creativity, and motivating audiences to pursue excellence by embracing unconventional thinking. Based on his book of the same name, this keynote speech on innovation, motivates audiences to embrace their inner ‘madness’ to pursue excellence in creativity. Larry does this via entertaining stories from his life in the movie and entertainment businesses. This works for companies in tech, gaming, entertainment, travel, consumer products and even banking.
