Speaker Dr. Debbie Berebichez is a television host, a physicist, a data scientist, and a keynote speaker. She has a Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University (the first Mexican woman to do so), and she is involved in numerous activities as a science, technology, and math ambassador. She also completed two postdoctoral fellowships in applied mathematics and physics at Columbia University and NYU. She also invented and pioneered a most effective technique in the field of wireless communications, which allows cell phone users to communicate with a desired target user in a distant location.
Along with co-hosting Outrageous Acts of Science, known from The Science Channel and Discovery Channel, Berebichez is currently the Principal Scientist at Thoughtworks in New York.
She has a background in theater which helps her connect with different types of audiences, from high school students to advanced professionals, scientists, and politicians. She is also a frequent public speaker, and she is on a mission to inspire and motivate young people to learn science and improve the general state of STEM education around the globe.
