About Dr. Kate Raynes-Goldie
Dr. Kate Raynes-Goldie is a multi-award winning curiosity keynote speaker, cultural futurist and globally recognised LEGO® Serious Play® expert. Since 2003, she has worked at the intersection of technology and humanity, helping organisations navigate change by strengthening what matters most: human capability. Her work focuses on enabling people to become more curious, connected and adaptable in an increasingly complex world.
She is the creator of SUPERCONNECT®, an internationally used, evidence-based method built on LEGO® Serious Play®. This approach is designed to optimise curiosity, human connection, belonging and psychological safety. Rather than simply talking about these concepts, Dr. Kate brings them to life through interactive, hands-on experiences that engage every participant in the room.
Interactive keynotes that create real change
Dr. Kate’s sessions are designed to be felt, not just heard. Her SUPERCONNECT®-powered keynotes combine storytelling, interaction and practical frameworks to create lasting impact. Participants leave with a deeper understanding of themselves, their teams and how they can contribute to a more connected and innovative workplace.
Her speaking style is engaging, dynamic and grounded in real-world application. Whether working with small leadership teams or delivering keynotes to audiences of hundreds, she creates an environment where people feel safe to explore new ideas, challenge assumptions and embrace change.

Her work has been featured in MTV, NPR, ELLE Magazine, The Australian Financial Review and The Globe and Mail.
A unique multidisciplinary foundation
What sets Dr. Kate apart is the depth behind her work. She combines expertise from four distinct disciplines:
- A PhD-trained cultural anthropologist who understands how and why people connect
- A multi-award winning game designer and graduate of the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab who creates engaging, meaningful experiences
- An internationally trained relationship coach and certified energy practitioner, supported by Mental Health First Aid training, who knows how to hold space for transformation
- A cultural futurist and former senior researcher who connects human behaviour with future trends
This combination allows her to design experiences that are both deeply human and strategically relevant. Her keynotes are where these perspectives come together, creating something that feels fresh, insightful and immediately applicable.
Leadership, curiosity and the future of work
As Chief Curiosity Officer at The Up Next Company, Dr. Kate works closely with leaders to help them stay aligned with their values while growing or pivoting their organisations. She supports leaders through times of transition, ensuring they can navigate uncertainty while maintaining clarity and purpose.
She is also a past TEDx speaker coach, Ambassador of Play and Innovation at Barking Gecko Arts, and a long-running tech and innovation columnist for Business News in Western Australia. Her contributions to the industry have been recognised with honours such as being named one of Western Australia’s 40under40 and the Australian Computer Society’s Digital Disruptors Professional of the Year.
