Background & Public Power Experience

Erick’s professional foundation was built during his years in the public power sector. He spent a decade working for two municipally owned utilities in Indiana and Colorado, where he led customer service divisions and worked closely with business communities. His mission was to ensure that local policy supported a thriving business environment, one where companies could grow, innovate, and create jobs.
His leadership extended to national platforms through the American Public Power Association (APPA). Erick earned the respected Key Public Power Account Executive designation and served on several national boards and committees dedicated to customer service, energy efficiency, and green technology. He held roles such as vice-chair of APPA’s National Customer Services Section and chair of the National Key Accounts Committee, contributing to industry standards and forward-thinking initiatives.

Energy Efficiency & Technology Leadership

Erick also partnered with Automated Energy, Inc., a leading software developer, to support municipally owned utilities as they deployed energy efficiency software. His work helped large commercial and industrial companies adopt green technologies and operate with greater efficiency. This experience strengthened Erick’s understanding of how innovation, human behavior, and strategic leadership intersect, insight that now drives many of his keynote themes and workshops.

Military Service & Personal Journey

Erick’s leadership journey began at the United States Military Academy, where he graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He went on to serve as a Military Police Officer and special investigator in the U.S. Army, working in Bosnia Herzegovina and Europe. These experiences shaped his discipline, worldview, and belief in service, principles that continue to guide his work today.
Now residing in New York with his wife, three children, and Doberman, Onyx, Erick brings both professional depth and personal warmth to every stage he steps onto.
