Who is Marc Amerigo?
Marc Amerigo is often described as an atypical engineer and a bold project leader. With an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Lyon and further education from EM Lyon Business School and the University of Maryland, he began his career in major industrial groups such as Airbus and Renault. Yet early on, he chose independence over a traditional career path, driven by a desire to explore challenges on his own terms.
For more than three decades, Marc has led complex projects across a wide range of industries, including aeronautics, nuclear, automotive, petrochemicals, chemicals, naval, construction and public works. Since 2002, he has held CEO and Chairman roles, continuously shaping strategies that combine innovation, performance and responsibility.
Alongside his industrial career, Marc has built a remarkable journey in extreme sports, contributing to 9 world speed records with exceptional athletes such as Éric Barone, Edmond Plawczyk and Antoine Albeau. This dual experience has allowed him to connect two demanding worlds and extract powerful lessons from both.
From industry to extreme performance
Marc Amerigo’s uniqueness lies in his ability to bridge complex industrial systems with the intensity of world record achievements. Working at the heart of high-risk, high-performance environments, he has developed a deep understanding of how technical excellence and human commitment interact.
His involvement in extreme sports is not anecdotal. From mountain biking at 228 km/h to snowboarding at over 200 km/h and windsurfing records nearing 100 km/h, Marc has been directly engaged in pushing the limits of speed and precision. These experiences provide real-life laboratories for testing resilience, trust, and collective performance under pressure.
From this cross-disciplinary journey, he has identified 7 key pillars of success—practical principles that apply equally to business transformation, leadership and innovation.
The Zephir Project
In 2020, Marc co-founded the Zephir Project with Antoine Albeau, the most decorated French athlete in windsurfing. This ambitious initiative brings together around 70 companies and major media channels with a shared vision: to explore the limits of speed, energy efficiency and ecoresponsible mobility.
The project focuses on understanding the dynamics of absolute gliding and leveraging wind power as a source of sustainable innovation. One of its key ambitions is to surpass the current 121 km/h speed benchmark set by a powered boat.
Beyond performance, Zephir Project represents a human and technological adventure. It demonstrates how collaboration, innovation and shared purpose can lead to breakthroughs with real-world impact, particularly in areas such as ecomobility and energy transition.
Leadership and the 7 pillars
Marc Amerigo’s conferences and workshops are built around his 7 pillars of success, developed through decades of field experience and personal reflection. These pillars form the foundation of his approach to leadership, performance and collective strength.
He addresses key themes such as:
- Leadership & Management
