From startup success to mental health advocate – Nick Bowditch brings raw honesty, humour, and hope to every stage.

Nick Bowditch is a speaker who stands out for his authenticity and honesty. An entrepreneur turned psychotherapist, Nick built and sold startups, failed at plenty more, and learned the power of storytelling through it all. His journey took him from small business ownership to senior roles at Facebook and Twitter the only Australian to have worked at both. Today, he speaks and writes about mental health, resilience, and growth, drawing from his own experiences with trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Nick’s talks are emotional, funny, and deeply human leaving audiences inspired to face their own challenges with courage.

From Entrepreneur to Storyteller

Nick Bowditch’s journey began in the unpredictable world of startups and small business. He built companies, created apps, and led marketing agencies. Some of his ventures were wildly successful, others fell apart. But through both success and failure, one constant emerged storytelling. Nick discovered that being open and honest about his experiences was what truly connected him with others. It became his greatest tool, not just for building businesses but for building relationships and trust.

Inside Facebook and Twitter

That same ability to tell stories and connect with people led Nick to one of the biggest opportunities of his career. Facebook recruited him to start, build, and run their small business operations in Australia and New Zealand. His deep understanding of how small businesses communicate and grow online made him a natural fit. After Facebook, he joined Twitter becoming not only the only Australian to have worked for both platforms, but also the only person globally to have held marketing roles at both. These experiences gave Nick rare insights into how technology shapes human behaviour, communication, and connection.

The Turning Point

Despite the prestige of those roles, something didn’t feel right. Nick had a good job, exciting projects, and a strong career trajectory but he felt called to do something different. He realised he wanted to make a more personal impact. This turning point led him to focus on three things: writing a book about his childhood experiences of abuse and trauma, speaking about mental health and resilience, and becoming a psychotherapist.

Speaking About What Matters

Nick’s keynotes are known for their raw honesty and emotional depth. He speaks openly about living with anxiety, depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and how he continues to grow through those experiences. His talks are about more than survival they’re about thriving through self-awareness, connection, and courage. Audiences leave his sessions feeling seen, understood, and empowered to share their own stories. Nick brings humour and hope to topics that are often hard to talk about, helping people find light even in difficult moments.

Helping Others Heal and Grow

Today, alongside his speaking and writing, Nick works as a psychotherapist. He supports individuals in navigating their own mental health challenges, using the same empathy and honesty that have defined his journey. His approach blends lived experience with professional insight, making him relatable and deeply credible. Whether he’s on stage, in a therapy room, or behind a microphone, Nick’s message remains the same: your story matters, and sharing it can be the start of real healing.
