About Boxing

  • Boxing is a combat sport in which two people engage in a contest of strength, speed, reflexes and endurance. During a fight boxers will be throwing punches at each other, usually with gloved hands, and will also defend themselves with their fists. Traditionally, the goal has been to knock the opponent unconscious from a blow to the head.
  • In the modern sport, boxers wear padded gloves and fight up to 12 three-minute rounds in a roped-off square known as the ring. Boxing was included among the Olympic games in 1904, and the sport also has its own World Championships. While people have fought in hand-to-hand combat since before the dawn of history, the origin of boxing as an organized sport is from the ancient Greeks.
  • A speaker, who has been a boxer, often holds a keynote on the subject and possible topics that can be covered are the sport of boxing, overcoming obstacles, success and motivation.
  • Our speakers are able to inspire audiences to strive for greatness and they will often use stories from their own career as an inspiration.
