Catherine Barba is widely recognized for her expertise. She has received numerous distinctions including that of “Femme en Or” 2011, Alumni of the Year ESCP Europe 2012 and Knight of the National Order of Merit in 2012. In 2014 she was named one of the 3 women with most influence on the economy in France and in 2015, she was named one of the top 50 most inspiring women within the European technology community by the Inspiring Fifty team. Catherine is a vocal advocate of women in tech and has organized events such as Journêe de la femme digital (Day of the Digital Woman) and the ‘Women in Innovation Forum NY’.

After graduating from ESCP Europe in 1996, Catherine founded and managed OMD Interactive (Omnicom group)—when there wasn’t much going on with the Internet in France. She then served from 1999 to 2003 as Managing Director of iFrance and in 2004, she created the cashback website Cashstore.fr which she sold 6 years later to Plebicom. She also developed a digital commerce consulting firm, Malinéa, which she sold to the french e-commerce company Vente-Privee in 2011. In 2012 she started the Catherine Barba Group, a consulting firm where she helps retailing startups enter the digital market. She then moved to the New York City to develop an international dimension to her business and offer her clients direct contacts with the most innovative players in the digital revolution.

Catherine serves as a Director of the ETAM lingerie brand and an investor in some ten innovative start-up such as Frenchweb, Leetchi, Recommend, Retency and Reech. Since 2017 she has been with Electronic BUSINESS GROUP and serves as Independent Director of Renault SA.
