People need energy, and countries will do what is necessary to get it. How will countries view the 21st century energy landscape, and who will dominate that landscape? Will geopolitics dominate, as powerful countries compete to secure supply? Or will advances in renewable energy systems fundamentally change the global energy landscape? Will costs remain manageable? What will happen in the “Green Revolution”?
The geopolitics of energy have never been more immediately relevant for people, businesses and governments. This talk will show listeners what the global energy system looks like now, and give scenarios of what the global energy system might look like. It will focus on what the future global energy system might look like, and how individuals, companies, and governments should prepare for it. It will cover current sources of potential conflict and reasons for optimism about the global energy system.

Is globalization over? What will the new world of economic competition look like?
The world has witnessed tremendous economic growth from globalization. It has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and raised living standards around the globe. Yet it has also left millions of people feeling left out, abandoned, and angry.
What has really changed, and how worried should we be that globalization has ended? This talk will focus on how geopolitics will change how the global economy works and how it impacts people.
Geopolitics is not new, and people need not be frightened of it. But they do need to understand how it works, as geopolitics is now re-writing the rules of the global economic game. This talk will give listeners an engaging look at how their world has changed, and what are some proactive steps that will prepare them well to prosper in the future.
