Top rated!David Webb is an International Football Performance Coach with more than 20 years’ experience across elite club and international football. His career spans coaching, recruitment, talent development and management, with roles at clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen. He was also part of the coaching team that helped Georgia qualify for UEFA EURO 2024, the country’s first major international tournament. Combining elite football experience with a Master’s degree in Sports Psychology, David shows organisations how to develop talent, build high-performing teams and turn potential into consistent performance.
David Webb has spent his career understanding what separates talent from sustained performance.
Working across the Premier League, Bundesliga and international football, David has experienced virtually every stage of the talent and performance journey. Along the way, he has worked with and helped develop players including Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Wilfried Zaha, Callum Wilson, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Those experiences have shaped a question at the heart of David’s work with organisations: why do some talented people fulfil their potential while others struggle to perform consistently?
His keynotes take audiences behind the scenes of elite football to explore how leaders can recognise individual strengths, develop talent effectively and build teams capable of delivering when expectations are high.
For David, high performance begins with understanding people rather than simply assessing their ability.
Players he has recruited and developed have gone on to generate more than £200 million in transfer value, giving him first-hand insight into the impact of recognising potential early and developing it intelligently.
His philosophy is built around five connected principles:
David encourages leaders to look beyond traditional measures of talent. Where has an individual come from? What makes them different? What are their standout strengths? What environment will allow them to thrive? And how will those strengths contribute to the wider team?
Applied to business, this approach challenges leaders to think beyond recruitment and consider what happens after talented people enter an organisation. Potential alone is not enough; people need the right development, leadership and environment to turn capability into results.
David saw these principles come together on the international stage as part of the coaching team that helped Georgia qualify for UEFA EURO 2024.
It was the country’s first appearance at a major international tournament, and Georgia went on to reach the Round of 16. For a team entering unfamiliar territory and competing under enormous pressure, belief and collective focus were essential.
Central to David’s thinking during the campaign was what he describes as a “hunter’s mindset”: creating determination, confidence and focus around a shared objective.
Through the Georgia story, David explores how teams can respond to ambitious goals, uncertainty and rising expectations. He demonstrates how clear purpose, collective belief and the right mindset can help people perform when the stakes are at their highest.
David’s approach is grounded in curiosity about people. Rather than expecting everyone to perform in the same way, he focuses on understanding character, background, motivation and individual strengths.
His Master’s degree in Sports Psychology complements decades of practical experience working with elite athletes whose performances are scrutinised week after week. Together, these perspectives allow him to examine both the psychological and practical factors that influence performance.
For leaders, the lesson is simple but powerful: capability does not automatically translate into performance. The environment surrounding an individual can determine whether their strengths are amplified or restricted.
David helps audiences consider how leadership, communication and culture can create conditions in which different people are able to contribute at their best.
Elite football offers little room to hide when pressure increases. Decisions are immediate, results are public and confidence can be tested in a matter of moments.
David brings audiences inside these demanding environments to explore resilience, confidence, decision-making and leadership under pressure. Rather than presenting performance as an abstract concept, he draws on situations he has experienced directly with players, coaches and teams at the highest levels of the game.
He translates those lessons into challenges familiar to organisations: maintaining focus through uncertainty, responding constructively when things go wrong, making decisions under pressure and creating teams that can deliver when expectations rise.
Audiences leave with a clearer understanding of how mindset, leadership and environment interact to influence performance and practical ideas they can apply to their own teams.
David Webb brings the realities of elite football into the business world through engaging stories, practical insights and lessons audiences can immediately relate to their own organisations.
Speaking on talent development, leadership, high-performance culture, resilience, confidence, decision-making and performing under pressure, David challenges audiences to reconsider how they recognise and develop potential.
His authentic, conversational and humorous style gives audiences a rare look inside professional football while delivering ideas that extend far beyond sport.

Keynote by David Webb:
High performance, team culture and resilience when the odds are against you.
David Webb developed and used the Hunter’s Mindset with the Georgia national team during UEFA EURO 2024, when the lowest-ranked team in the competition faced Portugal in a crucial game. The aim was to create a fearless mentality: brave, ambitious, aggressive and united, with a shared belief that the team had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Drawing on the idea of the wolf pack, David shows how high-performing teams stay together, work together and perform together. He explores how leaders can create belief when expectations are low, strengthen commitment around a shared goal and help people perform under pressure without becoming constrained by fear.
The keynote is particularly relevant for teams and organisations facing ambitious targets, major change, unfamiliar territory or a challenge they have never achieved before.
Audiences leave with a clearer understanding of how to:
Work together. Hunt together. Perform together.
Keynote by David Webb:
Spotting, developing and turning potential into performance
Talent gets attention. But talent alone does not guarantee performance.
Across more than 20 years in elite football, David Webb has worked across the entire talent journey — identifying potential, recruiting it, developing it and creating environments in which talented individuals can perform.
Having worked with players including Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Wilfried Zaha, Callum Wilson, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giorgi Mamardashvili, David has seen first-hand that identifying ability is only the beginning. The real challenge is understanding the individual behind the talent: where they have come from, what makes them different, what environment they are entering and what they need in order to thrive.
Drawing on experiences from the Premier League, Bundesliga and international football, David explores why some talented people fulfil their potential while others stall — and why organisations must look beyond ability when recruiting and developing people.
The keynote challenges leaders to think differently about potential. Rather than simply asking, “How talented is this person?”, David encourages them to ask: “What makes this individual different, what can they uniquely bring to our team, and are we creating the right conditions for them to succeed?”
The keynote is particularly relevant for organisations focused on talent acquisition, leadership development, succession planning, high-performing teams and getting more from talented people.
Audiences leave with a clearer understanding of how to:
Spot the potential. Understand the person. Create the environment. Unlock the performance.
Keynote by David Webb:
Why what you do repeatedly determines how far you can go.
Consistency will never guarantee success. But inconsistency will almost certainly prevent you from achieving it.
In elite football, one exceptional performance is not enough. Players, coaches and teams are judged by their ability to reproduce behaviours, standards and decision-making repeatedly — particularly when pressure, setbacks and uncertainty make doing so difficult.
Drawing on more than 20 years in elite football and his background in Sports Psychology, David Webb explores what consistency actually looks like inside high-performance environments and why it is often misunderstood.
Consistency isn't about being perfect every day. It is about creating clear standards, behaviours and habits that people can return to regardless of circumstances. It means maintaining commitment when motivation drops, responding constructively when performance dips and continuing to execute the fundamentals when pressure increases.
David shares lessons from elite club and international football to show how individuals and teams can create greater consistency in the behaviours they control — preparation, mindset, communication, decision making and response to adversity.
The keynote is particularly relevant for organisations experiencing performance fluctuations, demanding targets, periods of change or teams where talent and capability exist but results remain inconsistent.
Audiences leave with a clearer understanding of how to:
Consistency doesn't guarantee success. But without consistency, sustained success becomes impossible.
