I attended a workshop and talk hosted by Janine about using LinkedIn to help grow my business and connections. I was excited before the workshop as it has always been an area I wanted to learn more about and felt it could be a good platform for me but I didn't understand how I could use it. We engaged with Janine to give a talk to our trainees and alumni about Navigating Career Development in Uncertain Times, and she certainly delivered. Covering topics from Leveraging your Unique Experience to Stand Out, Current Market Trends and How This Impacts You, to Building a Personal Brand using LinkedIn, and the Importance of strategic Networking, Janine’s talk was detailed and relevant, and drew on her personal experience to illustrate her points. The other attendees’ feedback was extremely positive, especially in regard to Janine’s overriding message about being pro-active with your career, not just letting it happen; looking at the lifestyle you are aiming to achieve, and not just the job. Also, looking forwards, realistically in the current climate maybe 18 months to 2 years (rather than the 5 year plan). A lot of the strategies/tools Janine suggested employing are actually free and easily accessible – another huge plus in the current climate of rising costs. We would definately recommend Janine as an engaging speaker, who knows her subject, but who also gets the listeners to really think about what they want and how they can go about it.
