Leta Hong Fincher is a leading journalist, scholar, and author on feminism and women’s rights in China. Her acclaimed books Leftover Women and Betraying Big Brother explore gender inequality, workplace discrimination, and the rise of China’s feminist movement.
The first American to earn a PhD in Sociology from Tsinghua University, Fincher has reported widely for international media and lectures at top institutions including Columbia, Harvard, and CSIS. She is currently a research associate at Columbia University’s Weatherhead East Asian Institute.
