Pratishtha Deveshwar – DEI & Disability Inclusion Speaker

Pratishtha Deveshwar is a DEI and Disability Inclusion Consultant and Speaker with lived experience of disability and a strong foundation in public policy and international development. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford, where her academic and applied work focused on inclusion, equity, and systems-level change.

Her work sits at the intersection of lived experience, policy insight, and organisational practice. This combination allows her to translate complex frameworks into practical strategies that resonate with leaders, HR professionals, and teams across sectors. When you book Pratishtha Deveshwar for your event, you bring in a speaker who understands both the structural dimensions of inclusion and the everyday realities employees navigate.

From Global Frameworks to Workplace Reality

Pratishtha has engaged with United Nations frameworks, government initiatives, and institutional stakeholders. Through this exposure, she has gained insight into how disability inclusion is shaped across policy, organisational, and societal contexts. Her experience spans diverse national and cultural environments, enabling her to approach workplace inclusion with a globally informed and context-sensitive perspective.

She understands how inclusion commitments are often articulated at policy level, yet diluted in day-to-day practice. Many organisations invest in DEI strategies, ESG commitments, and people-focused policies, yet managers and employees are left uncertain about what inclusive behaviour looks like in real time. Pratishtha addresses this gap directly.

Her keynotes and workshops explore:

  • The disconnect between DEI policy and on-ground implementation

  • Unconscious bias and how it shapes decision-making

  • Managerial uncertainty around disability and accommodations

  • Psychological safety and inclusive communication

  • Embedding disability inclusion within broader DEI and ESG strategies

By grounding her sessions in evidence-based DEI frameworks and global policy understanding, she ensures that conversations are credible, structured, and relevant to organisational realities.

Practical, Behaviour-Level Inclusion

Motivated by the persistent gap between inclusion intent and everyday workplace realities, Pratishtha partners with organisations to move beyond awareness. Her focus is behaviour-level inclusion—what leaders say, how managers respond, how teams collaborate, and how systems either enable or exclude.

Her lived experience of disability adds depth and authenticity to her delivery. It brings nuance to conversations that are often handled with hesitation or uncertainty. Rather than positioning disability inclusion as a compliance obligation, she frames it as a leadership capability and a strategic advantage.

Participants leave her sessions with:

  • Clear language to discuss disability and inclusion confidently

  • Tools to identify and interrupt bias in practical situations

  • Greater clarity on reasonable accommodations and inclusive leadership

  • A stronger understanding of how policy translates into practice

  • Concrete actions aligned with organisational DEI and people strategy goals

Her approach is direct, thoughtful, and grounded in real-world application. She creates a space where complex topics can be explored constructively, without oversimplification.

Customised for Your Organisation

Pratishtha works with corporate organisations, leadership teams, HR professionals, public institutions, and academic bodies. She delivers customised sessions both virtually and in person, ensuring alignment with organisational context, workforce needs, and strategic priorities.

Whether the focus is strengthening inclusive leadership, embedding disability inclusion into ESG commitments, or equipping managers with practical confidence, her content is tailored to the audience in front of her. She recognises that inclusion challenges differ across industries, cultures, and organisational structures. Her global exposure allows her to adapt her insights accordingly, while maintaining a consistent foundation in policy literacy and evidence-based DEI practice.

Keynotes

Keynote by Pratishtha Deveshwar:

Disability Sensitisation: Lived Experience to Inclusive Action

At thirteen, a car accident left Pratishtha Deveshwar paralysed and dependent on a wheelchair, reshaping not only her body, but the way she experienced education, public spaces, and society. Growing up in Punjab, she encountered barriers that were physical, social, and systemic, many of them unintentional yet deeply exclusionary.

Rather than allowing these limitations to define her future, Pratishtha transformed lived experience into leadership, going on to become the first Indian woman wheelchair user to study at the University of Oxford, where she earned a Master’s in Public Policy.

This lecture draws on her personal journey, global policy training, and international experience to help organisations understand disability beyond sympathy or compliance, and to build inclusive behaviours that translate intent into everyday workplace practice.
