Rennie Curran's Journey
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Liberian immigrant parents Rennie and Josie Curran, Rennie developed a strong work ethic and determination from an early age. Growing up with humble beginnings, he learned the value of perseverance, discipline and faith.
His football journey began at Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia, where he became the all-time leading tackler in Gwinnett County history. Despite being labeled undersized by many critics, Rennie refused to let limitations define his future.
That determination carried him to the University of Georgia, where he immediately made an impact as a true freshman. His college career included numerous achievements, including becoming a 3-time All-American, a Butkus Award Finalist and a permanent team captain. His success eventually led to being selected in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.
The lessons learned throughout his athletic career continue to shape the messages he shares today. His story demonstrates how resilience, preparation and belief can help individuals overcome challenges and achieve goals that others may consider impossible.
Leadership Beyond Sports
Following his professional football career, Rennie successfully transitioned into entrepreneurship and coaching. His experience navigating major life and career transitions inspired him to help others do the same.
As CEO of Game Changer Coaching, Rennie works with business executives, entrepreneurs and professionals who want to become high-performing leaders. His coaching focuses on improving leadership effectiveness, communication skills, personal branding and overall performance.
Through innovative keynote presentations, workshops and coaching programs, he teaches audiences how to:
- Develop authentic leadership skills
- Build stronger teams and workplace cultures
- Communicate with confidence and clarity
- Navigate change and uncertainty
- Maximize personal and professional opportunities
- Strengthen resilience during challenging seasons
- Create meaningful impact through service and leadership
His ability to connect lessons from sports, business and personal development makes his presentations relevant across industries and audiences.
Author & Thought Leader
Rennie is also an accomplished author dedicated to helping others overcome adversity and unlock their potential.
In 2013, he published Free Agent: The Intangibles for Overcoming Adversity and Times of Transition, a motivational self-help book that explores how individuals can navigate life's transitions while staying focused on their goals and purpose. Drawing from personal experiences, the book provides practical guidance for overcoming setbacks and maintaining momentum during difficult periods.
He later co-authored the children's book What Does It Take to Be a Star with his daughter, Eleana Curran. The book encourages children to discover their unique strengths and understand that true greatness is defined by character, values and personal growth rather than titles or recognition.
Rennie's thought leadership and expertise have been featured by respected media outlets including The New York Times, USA Today, Fox Sports, ESPN College GameDay and The Huffington Post.
He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business and earned certification in Life and Business Coaching from the Life Purpose Institute.
