Keynote speaker Bryan Seely is a charismatic and entertaining speaker whose speaking career was launched by his TEDx talk “Wiretapping the Secret Service can be easy and fun”. He is a renowned cyber security expert, ethical hacker, author and former U.S. Marine.
The only hacker to ever wiretap the Secret Service & FBI.
In early 2014, Bryan Seely intercepted calls to the United States Secret Service and FBI by hacking Google Maps. His goal was to make Google aware of this problem with their security. This was a bold move that almost got him arrested, but in the end made him a celebrated ethical hacker.
Later that year, Seely and another security expert de-anonymized the highly valued mobile app, Secret. This got Seely even more renown, and he ended up on the front page of Wired.com, CNNMoney, CNET, Forbes and the Washington Post all in the same day. Less than a week later Seely landed a consulting gig with Secret, and Mark Cuban personally contacted the duo to provide mobile application security/ethical hacking services for his newest tech investment, Cyberdust. Bryan Seely is now an Advisor to John McAfee and his company MGT, where he helps develop the cyber security techniques that actually work for our modern digital age.
It’s no wonder so many people call Seely a hero… During his cyber security career, Seely has helped reveal a massive number of data breaches at several hundred major institutions which prevented the theft/loss of substantial amounts of money and information; including over 9 million social security numbers, and $23 billion in managed funds at MBIA.
