Unleashing the Generative AI Genie: A Brave New Metaverse or a Nightmare Scenario?

If 2021 was the year for the metaverse, 2022 was the year for generative AI. In the past months, Generative AI took the world by storm, and in 2023, these disruptive forces will converge to kickstart the immersive internet and unleash creativity like never before.

In this keynote, Dr Van Rijmenam will explore the exciting and rapidly evolving field of generative AI and its disruptive impact on the metaverse. Generative AI is a form of AI that can create original content, such as text, images, and entire virtual worlds. The use of generative AI in the metaverse has the potential to transform the immersive internet before it has even arrived. However, it is certainly not without risks.

Keynote by Speaker Dr. Mark van Rijmenam:

What is Real, What is Fake, and How do you Define Real?

In this mind-bending keynote, we will explore what is real and what is fake in a world driven by synthetic data and media. In an algorithmic post-truth world, the lines between reality and fiction are becoming increasingly blurred, and it's essential to understand how to navigate this new landscape.

As Morpheus said in The Matrix, "What is real? How do you define real?" But even his definition is no longer true in today's world. That's why I'm excited to bring my digital twin to this talk and take the audience on a journey into the unknown, exploring the latest trends and emerging technologies that are reshaping our world and our perception of reality.

Together, we'll explore the implications of this new world, from the challenges and opportunities of synthetic data and media to the ethical considerations of using these technologies.
So, get ready to challenge your assumptions and redefine your understanding of what is real and what is fake.
