Having started his career as an economics lecturer at the Lebanese American University, Ammous was later promoted to instructor. One thing about Saifedean is that he never stopped scaling the heights of academia, even when working. No wonder he left the university with a higher title (Associate Professor) than he came with.
Ammous resigned from this role in 2019 and went on to found saidedean.com, an online platform where he hosts a podcast known as The Bitcoin Standard. The program features discussions on Bitcoin, the Austrian economy, and current affairs in the world of finance and economics. Many economics students have this platform to thank for their success. He has also been featured in Markets Insider, Bitcoin Magazine, The New York Times, Bitcoinist, Forbes, and other prominent media outlets.
When it comes to books, Ammous is best known for his stroke of genius, The Bitcoin Standard. In this best-selling book, available in numerous different languages, the author talks about the economics of Bitcoin and how it is the hardest money invention. Other books by this economist include The Principles of Economics and The Fiat Standard.
