Sidney Moncrief was born on September 21, 1957, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He played college basketball for the University of Arkansas before being drafted fifth overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1979 NBA draft. Moncrief went on to have a successful career in the NBA, earning multiple All-Star and All-Defensive team selections, as well as two Defensive Player of the Year awards. After retiring from basketball, he became a coach, author, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker.
