About Tendencies

  • What tendencies make trends, what ideas, what whims of fashion, what is the latest hype? It is hard to truly predict such things, fashions change and hypes come and go. However, sometimes it is possible to spot general tendencies.
  • What defines a tendency and how do tendencies come about? Is it possible to spot tendencies early on, perhaps even predict what will be ‘the next thing’
  • Keynote speakers on tendencies ask those very questions. Certain tendencies get hyped but what is the big picture? Which tendencies will survive and which will be forgotten after but a while? Is it possible to study tendencies to such a degree that it enables us to look into the future, if only a little?
