At the age of eight, ‘Ronnie’ was introduced to the game at Keynsham RFC before moving on to St Brendan’s Old Boys minis, and then played through Bristol’s age group sides. His talent and focused attitude were evident as he was selected to represent England 16 Group, 18 Group, Colts, Students, U21s, Emerging Players and England A before winning his first full cap in ’95.
In addition to the stellar 2003 world cup victory, another career highlight for Mark was touring South Africa with the legendary Lions in 1997, when they won the series 2-1.
Not only a star on the international stage, Mark has always been a high quality club man and a consistent favourite with the fans. An exceptionally friendly individual, proud and loyal, he made a significant impact on and off the pitch at the clubs that he turned out for.
