A Leader in Mindset and Innovation
Nigel Collin stands among Australia’s most respected voices on innovation, adaptability, and leadership. His work focuses on one key principle: sustainable growth comes not from sudden leaps, but from consistent, small steps forward. As the founder of the Game of Inches® methodology, Nigel has helped countless organisations reframe their approach to change proving that measurable progress is achievable when people align daily actions with strategic vision.
Drawing on decades of experience as a business owner, creative strategist, and researcher, Nigel delivers insights that are both practical and inspiring. His sessions blend storytelling with real data and case studies, offering a roadmap for teams to build an adaptive mindset and embrace continuous improvement.
The Game of Inches® – Small Steps, Big Impact
At the core of Nigel’s philosophy lies his Game of Inches® framework. It’s a method designed to make innovation accessible and achievable for everyone within an organisation. Instead of relying on sweeping transformations, Nigel teaches that consistent, small innovations can compound into remarkable long-term success. This approach empowers leaders to engage their teams, encouraging participation from the ground up and embedding adaptability into the organisation’s DNA.
Through his book Game of Inches and his live sessions, Nigel shares evidence-backed strategies for cultivating creativity, improving processes, and sustaining momentum even through uncertainty. His message is clear: every big win starts with one small, deliberate step.
From Creative Entrepreneur to Researcher of Ingenuity
Nigel’s journey is one of constant curiosity and creativity. He founded his first business at just 20 years old and sold it a year later, before establishing one of Australia’s most prominent creative entertainment design companies within the business events arena. His entrepreneurial success gave him first-hand understanding of what it takes to innovate and lead in dynamic industries.
In 2013, Nigel embarked on a solo journey across Australia on his motorbike, armed with a video camera. His mission: to uncover stories of everyday Australians achieving extraordinary results through ingenuity and perseverance. This project became the Ingenious Oz initiative a treasure trove of insights into how small, innovative actions can lead to lasting success across diverse sectors.
