I had the pleasure of working with Niluka during the 2015 annual Somerville Telethon. My role is to oversea this activity, the largest fundraising activity in the Development Office's calendar. Niluka worked as a student caller and was essential to raising funds for bursaries, access and the tutorial system. She was extremely conscientious and thoroughly personable, striking up meaningful conversations with Somervillians from all backgrounds. She acted as an ambassador for the College and through active listening and excellent communications skills, she was able to secure donations (at all levels) from alumni. The 2015 Telethon raised north of £300k in two weeks, which was an exceptional result, and simply would not have been possible without the hard work of the Telethon callers, such as Niluka. The role of the Caller is not easy, and at times requires diplomacy and tact, which I am pleased to say Niluka possessed. Niluka was a true champion of the alumni relations activity at College, so much so that she is now a 'Year Rep' for her academic year, which sees her encouraging members of her class to attend events and send in news and updates for alumni communications. It is great to see her excelling in her current field and we wish her all the best for the future!

I worked with Niluka at KPMG when she co-founded the Future Thinkers initiative. Future Thinkers is a programme of digital-focussed events with the aim of inspiring and informing KPMG colleagues. I supported / sponsored Niluka and her two co-founders to get the programme up and running. Niluka was always very high energy, proactive and professional, and a great ambassador for KPMG. She compered a number of events and hosted panels, asking challenging and pertinent questions to the guests. Together with her co-founders she ran some superb events, with the likes of AliPay, the BBC, HSBC, Moneybox, and Nutmeg. She's great fun to work with, super bright, and an original thinker. A real asset.

Niluka delivered an insightful, well researched and thought-provoking online session for University of Edinburgh MSc Marketing students on how the pandemic has impacted consumer sentiment and what that means for brand purpose. She also spoke about the importance of the self as brand and offered some invaluable insights for students to consider when navigating their careers. I worked with Niluka while she was the CMO of the tech start-up tbc. I was a marketing assistant and worked very closely with her. As a leader, Niluka is super smart and has a natural creative flair. It's rare in your professional life to come across an individual like Niluka. And over the past few years I have watched her grow from strength to strength.
