As the founding CEO of AirAsia X, a long-haul, low-cost airline, Azran led the company’s start-up, raising capital to launch its first flight. Since 2007, the company grew from owning one to 26 aircraft and employing more than 2,500 employees. With $1billion in annual revenue in 2014, the airline pioneered long-haul firsts, including business class flatbed seating, quiet zones, and fly-through connections. Innovation played an integral role in the airline’s success.
