Today we were lucky enough to welcome J Grange to Scarborough HQ to talk to our colleagues about the importance of Neurodiversity in the workplace. It was a really thought provoking conversation, filled with honesty and passion - which sparked a lot of conversation within the room! I loved it when he said that we need different minds for the world to operate the way it does and that it wouldn't be 'normal' for everyone to think the same. It's left me with lots of food for thought about how our hiring practices can be more suited to neurodivergent candidates!

J Grange and I met at a conference jointly run by the Children's Mental Health Coalition and the School Wellbeing Partnership. I so enjoyed his presentation about what as a neurodiverse young person who was twice permanently excluded from school wishes his teachers had known about neurodiversity. Since then J has worked with both students, staff and parents across trust schools in Unity Schools Partnership and spoken to most of our senior 200 school staff. His contribution has been significant and been highly valued by both staff, children and parents
