Likewise, Hannah Graf also valued her role as one of the British Army's highest ranking transgender officers before retiring in 2019 for a career in finance. Hannah’s 2013 decision to come out as a trans woman, while still enrolled in the British Army, created opportunities for her to advise on transgender policies. She also mentored other trans soldiers. After sharing her story with the press, it went viral and news outlets across the globe interviewed her.
