Pro racer Nicolas Hamilton shares his journey overcoming Cerebral Palsy

Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at birth, Hamilton required a wheelchair due to challenges moving his own muscles. After undergoing painful training, he began walking without assistance at the age of 17. Focused on joining the professional racing ranks, he persevered until accomplishing this dream. He currently competes in the British Touring Championship by using a modified car due to his Cerebral Palsy. In 2015, he became the first driver with a disability to compete in the British Touring Championship after acquiring a deal to race an Audi A3 with AmD Tuning.

Nicolas Hamilton was born with Cerebral Palsy. Told that he'd never walk on his own, he was determined to prove the doctors wrong. He did just that by enduring gruelling training to reach his goal of walking without assistance by 17 years of age. His career goal of becoming a race car driver was another challenge to overcome. After much practice and a modified car, he's become a well-respected professional driver.

His debut at the Renault Clio Cup attracted media attention, despite his last place finish in 2011. By 2013, he'd joined the European Touring Cup. In 2015, he became the first disabled driver to compete in the British Touring Championship. In 2016, Hamilton was selected as a part of Channel 4's team as a Formula 1 presentation driver. By 2019, he became a full-time driver for Motorbase Performance. By 2020, Hamilton had become the fourth HARD team member in the Volkswagen CC.

Hamilton's rise through the racing ranks is extraordinary, considering the physical challenges he's overcome. By sharing his story, he motivates audiences to move forward with ambition and continue until the goal is achieved.
