Top rated!Erica Orange is an internationally recognized futurist, author and keynote speaker who helps organizations understand what is changing, what comes next and how leaders can respond. As Partner at The Future Hunters, a prominent futurist consultancy, she identifies emerging global trends and translates complex shifts into practical insights for decision-makers. Having delivered more than 400 keynotes across six continents, including TEDx, Erica brings sharp analysis, bold thinking and an engaging stage presence to conversations about AI, leadership, human behavior and strategic foresight. Her work is grounded in an optimistic belief: the future is something we can actively shape through imagination, human ingenuity and deliberate action.
Erica Orange has built her career around a question that has fascinated her since childhood: what if?
Growing up in Rochester, New York, Erica transformed asphalt streets into imagined atmospheres and her tricycle into a space shuttle. That curiosity eventually led her to study psychology at the University of Rochester, where she became fascinated by human behavior, including the patterns people repeat, the blind spots they develop and the stories that shape how they see themselves and the world.
After working in public policy in Washington, DC, Erica encountered a career path she had never previously considered. Edie Weiner, her future mother-in-law and one of the world’s foremost futurists, suggested that Erica become a futurist herself.
The idea immediately connected with how Erica already thought. Her ability to identify patterns, connect seemingly disparate ideas and imagine how different futures could unfold suddenly had both a name and a purpose. She immersed herself in science fiction and trend analysis, developing the expertise to translate complex shifts into meaningful insights for organizations.
Today, as Partner at The Future Hunters, Erica helps leaders understand the technological, cultural and societal forces reshaping their organizations and prepare strategically for what comes next.
Erica has delivered more than 400 keynotes across six continents, including TEDx, bringing strategic foresight to audiences navigating technological, cultural and organizational transformation.
Her presentations challenge conventional thinking while giving leaders practical ways to look beyond immediate disruption and make more informed decisions. Audiences can expect Erica to:
Combining rigorous analysis with curiosity and optimism, Erica makes complex ideas accessible, relevant and useful for audiences across industries.
Artificial intelligence is transforming far more than technology. It is changing how people understand time, trust and truth while raising fundamental questions about identity, agency and human ingenuity.
These questions are central to Erica’s acclaimed book, AI + The New Human Frontier, published by Wiley in 2024. The book explores how organizations can harness human ingenuity alongside exponential technologies and prepare for a world in which technological capabilities continue to evolve rapidly.
For Erica, the most important frontier is ultimately human. Her work examines how organizations can move beyond simply reacting to technological change and make more deliberate choices about how new capabilities are integrated into their cultures, strategies and ways of working.
Her work has been featured in Wired, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, NPR and CBS, and she has been recognized as one of the world’s Top 50 Female Futurists.
Erica’s background in psychology gives her a distinctive perspective on foresight. Understanding change is not only about tracking technologies or market developments; it also requires understanding what motivates people, how behaviors evolve and why familiar assumptions can become obstacles when circumstances shift.
By combining psychology with trend analysis and strategic foresight, Erica helps leaders widen their perspective beyond the next quarter, product cycle or technology announcement. Instead of offering predictions about exactly what the future will look like, she provides frameworks for examining possibilities, questioning assumptions and making thoughtful decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
This approach makes her work particularly relevant for organizations facing transformation and looking to understand not only what is changing, but what those changes could mean for their people and strategy.
For Erica, futurism is more than a profession. Being a mother to an elementary school-aged son gives her work a deeply personal dimension. Every trend she tracks and every keynote she delivers connects, in some way, to the world the next generation will inherit.
That perspective reinforces the optimism at the heart of her work. While acknowledging the scale of the challenges facing organizations and society, Erica believes people still have meaningful choices about the world they create.
Together with Jared, Erica created Wake the Future, bringing conversations about technology, society and tomorrow beyond conference rooms and into everyday life around the kitchen table.
When she is not speaking on stage or exploring emerging trends, Erica can often be found hiking, watching her son play Little League or planning the next family adventure.
At the center of Erica’s work is a simple idea: the future should not merely happen to us. Through imagination, foresight and deliberate action, people can participate in shaping it.
Book Erica Orange for your event to give audiences a thought-provoking exploration of AI, emerging trends and the forces transforming our world, combined with practical perspectives for understanding change and preparing for what comes next.

Templosion describes the fact that the biggest of things and the biggest of events are happening in shorter and shorter periods of time. Everything from corporate lifespans to financial planning cycles to the way in which we communicate is becoming more abbreviated. And technological innovation is happening at breakneck speed. Time is being truncated, and our experience of time is in overdrive.
Keynote by Erica Orange:
Generations have long been grouped in birth year cohorts of 15-20 years. But generations are now seemingly refreshing every 2-3 years. Technology is changing so rapidly that kids only a few years apart struggle to have the same cultural and technological frames of reference. Understanding what makes this generation tick is critical for talent management, marketing, education/learning, etc.

Being future ready requires not just lifelong learning...but forgetting. How do we begin to forget the stuff we’re holding onto that doesn’t serve us for where the future is moving? This requires getting out the “mental cobwebs” and seeing through new eyes. It’s about leaving past assumptions behind and approaching the ways in which we see the world and our organizations in a new light.
Keynote by Erica Orange:
As AI evolves to take on more routine tasks, the essence of human intelligence - our curiosity, critical thinking, empathy, and more - is not only irreplaceable but will become increasingly valuable. Learn how the next generation of AI tools can expand human creativity and intelligence, not diminish it. This includes the crucial role of human oversight in creating AI technologies that enhance our capabilities and work alongside us.
Keynote by Erica Orange:
Today, there is a growing vacuum of trust. Our future will demand that we choose trust – trust in each other; trust in strategy; trust in our society; trust in progress – and we all need to find ways to put that into action because trust has become a precious commodity. We are also living in a time when the lines between what is real, fake, true and false are becoming more blurred, so reliance on human-centric solutions, not just technological ones, will become more critical.
