Speaker Igor Pejic is an experienced and presenter and frequent expert panelist in subjects such as technological trends, corporate strategy, blockchain, innovation, banking, and payments. He is one of three finalists nominated by the McKinsey and the Financial Times for the Bracken Bower Prize, and the culmination of his blockchain work inspired him to write his critically-acclaimed book, Blockchain Babel.
In addition to holding various management positions in banking and payments, speaker Igor Pejic has spent five years researching blockchain and financial technology. He has delivered more than a dozen keynotes in multiple countries on the subject, and he has published more than 50 articles and designed courses on the blockchain for bankers and non-bankers. Moreover, he was one of the first commentators to suggest that the rise of data giants will become a major competitor to banks.
Based on his background, his writing is at the cusp of the practitioner's view and academic rigor. He has worked as a management consultant advising Fortune 100 companies and held different management positions in banking and payments, most recently as the Head of Marketing and Product Management at BNP Paribas PF AT. On the other side, he taught at the University of Vienna, from which he also holds three degrees: an MA in English Linguistics, as well as a BA and MA in Journalism. Moreover, he completed an MBA at the WU Executive Academy.
