Keynote speaker on trust, loyalty, customer experience and human behaviour

Vinay Parmar is a keynote speaker on trust, loyalty and human behaviour who challenges organisations to rethink why customers stay, leave or become advocates. Drawing on more than three decades of experience, from starting as a call centre agent to becoming Chief Customer Experience Officer at a FTSE 250 business, Vinay connects behavioural psychology and memory science with the realities of leadership and customer experience. His message is clear: loyalty is not created by a programme or points scheme. It grows from the moments people remember. With relatable stories, practical ideas and an engaging conversational style, Vinay gives audiences a fresh way to understand customer relationships, trust and loyalty. His central belief runs through every keynote: every moment matters.

Why loyalty begins with moments

Vinay Parmar is a keynote speaker on trust, loyalty and human behaviour. At the heart of his work is a deceptively simple question: why do some customers stay while others quietly drift away?

For Vinay, the answer cannot be found in another loyalty programme, points scheme or organisational department. Loyalty is created through experiences, and more specifically through the moments people remember. Those moments become memories. Memories influence trust. Trust drives loyalty. And loyalty ultimately affects whether a customer decides to stay, leave or advocate for an organisation.

This idea sits at the centre of Vinay Parmar’s keynotes and gives leaders a different lens through which to view customer experience. Instead of treating loyalty as something that can simply be designed into a programme, he explores the human behaviour behind it and the experiences that continue to influence people long after an interaction has ended.

His central belief is straightforward: every moment matters.

From the frontline to the boardroom

Vinay’s perspective comes from more than three decades spent experiencing customer relationships and organisational leadership at very different levels.

He began his career in 1992 as a call centre agent, without a degree. From those early days on the frontline, he developed a close understanding of what customer experience looks and feels like in everyday interactions.

Vinay later became part of the team that launched Egg, the UK’s first pure online bank. He went on to become Chief Customer Experience Officer at National Express, a FTSE 250 business, where he delivered record customer satisfaction and NPS scores.

Today, Vinay continues to work at board level. He is a Non-Executive Director at Transport for Wales, where he chairs the Customer Experience Committee, and he also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Curo.

This journey from answering phones to working in the boardroom gives Vinay Parmar an unusually broad perspective. He understands the customer-facing moments that happen every day, while also understanding the leadership decisions, structures and priorities that shape those moments.

Human behaviour made relatable

Book speaker Vinay Parmar for your event when you want an audience to explore customer loyalty from a distinctly human perspective.

Vinay draws on behavioural psychology, memory science and three decades of leadership experience to explain why certain interactions stay with us while others disappear almost immediately. Rather than burying audiences in theory, he brings these ideas to life through stories people recognise.

An album can become a way to understand memory. A film’s closing credits can reveal something about how experiences end. A family holiday can show why individual moments become attached to much bigger memories. An ordinary interaction that went slightly wrong can demonstrate how quickly trust can be affected.

These familiar reference points help complex ideas land. Vinay takes subjects that can easily become abstract or corporate and makes them accessible, relevant and easy to discuss. Audiences can recognise the behaviours in their own lives before considering what they mean for customers, colleagues and organisations.

The result is a keynote grounded in research and experience without feeling like an academic lecture.

A conversation that challenges audiences

Vinay Parmar’s speaking style is conversational. His keynotes are designed to feel like an exchange with the audience rather than a lecture delivered at them.

He challenges people to reconsider familiar assumptions and look at everyday customer interactions through a different lens. The aim is not simply to provide another set of customer experience principles. It is to give audiences ideas and language they can remember, discuss and apply after the event has finished.

Audiences can expect to explore:

  • How moments become memories and influence future decisions
  • Why trust plays such a central role in customer loyalty
  • Why loyalty goes far beyond schemes, programmes and points
  • How behavioural psychology and memory science can change the way we think about customer experience
  • Why seemingly ordinary interactions can have an outsized impact on whether people stay, leave or advocate

Vinay’s stories make these ideas tangible. They invite people to notice details they may previously have overlooked and reconsider what really shapes the relationships organisations have with their customers.

Book Vinay Parmar for your event

Booking Vinay Parmar gives organisations access to a speaker whose experience spans the frontline, executive leadership and the boardroom. His career allows him to connect strategy with the individual human moments where customer relationships are actually formed.

His experience at Egg, National Express, Transport for Wales and Curo gives him a practical understanding of customer experience across different stages of organisational life and leadership. Combined with his interest in behavioural psychology and memory science, this allows him to approach trust and loyalty from both a business and human perspective.

Vinay’s keynotes are particularly relevant for organisations and audiences interested in customer experience, loyalty, trust, leadership and human behaviour. Rather than presenting loyalty as a separate initiative, he encourages audiences to see it as the cumulative result of moments that customers notice, remember and attach meaning to.

That is why every interaction has potential significance. A moment may seem small to an organisation while becoming part of the story a customer remembers. Those memories influence trust, and that trust can determine what happens next.

Book speaker Vinay Parmar for an engaging keynote that connects human behaviour with the realities of customer experience and leaves audiences looking differently at the moments they create every day.

Because when it comes to trust and loyalty, every moment matters.

Keynotes

Keynote by Vinay Parmar:

EVERY MOMENT MATTERS

Why the moments people remember matter more than the experiences they forget.

Most organisations are not delivering bad experiences. They are delivering perfectly acceptable ones, and that can be just as dangerous.

Vinay calls it the sea of vanilla: a world of seven out of ten experiences that give customers little reason to complain and equally little reason to stay.

This keynote explores why some experiences vanish instantly while others become memories, how those memories shape trust, and why trust ultimately decides whether customers stay, leave or recommend.

Best for: company conferences, all-company events, senior leadership events, sales and service teams, organisations focused on loyalty, retention and advocacy.

Keynote by Vinay Parmar:

LEADING FOR LOYALTY

Why what customers experience on the outside starts with what leaders create on the inside.

Culture made visible. The frontline may deliver the experience, but the conditions for it are created everywhere else: in leadership decisions, priorities, processes and the way teams work together. Vinay compares organisations to the closing credits of a film. We remember the actors, but the performance was made possible by hundreds of people we never see.

This keynote challenges the idea that loyalty belongs to customer-facing teams and makes the case that it is a whole-team game.

Best for: leadership conferences, executive and senior management teams, people and culture events, organisations navigating growth or change.

Keynote by Vinay Parmar:

BEYOND THE ALGORITHM

In a world of AI, automation and algorithms, being human matters more than ever.

Technology can make experiences faster, smarter and more efficient. Efficiency alone does not create trust. This keynote challenges organisations to look beyond what technology can do and consider how it makes people feel. Technology is the enabler, not the thing. The organisations that stand out will not be the ones using the most of it. They will be the ones using it most thoughtfully.

Best for: technology and digital conferences, AI and innovation events, transformation programmes, leadership teams shaping the future of service.

Every session is shaped around the client's audience, event theme and objectives. This is not a generic presentation with a logo added to the opening slide.
