Customer service expert and former Disney leader turning service excellence into practical business results

Dennis Snow knows what exceptional customer service looks like from the inside. During a 20-year career with the Walt Disney World Company, he progressed from a front-line attractions operator to leadership roles across operations, training and consulting. Along the way, he developed a deep understanding of how organizations create service experiences that customers remember and employees can consistently deliver.

Today, Dennis Snow is a full-time speaker, trainer and consultant helping organizations improve customer service, employee development and leadership. Drawing on decades of hands-on experience, he translates the principles behind world-class service into practical ideas leaders and teams can apply in their own organizations.

From Disney front line to leadership

Dennis Snow’s expertise in customer service was developed through more than 20 years with the Walt Disney World Company. He began his Disney career in 1979 as a front-line attractions operator, giving him first-hand experience of the everyday interactions that shape a customer’s perception of an organization.

As his career progressed, Dennis managed various operating areas throughout the park. These roles gave him the opportunity to learn, apply and refine the skills required to run a world-class, service-driven organization. His experience covered far more than the customer-facing side of service. It also gave him valuable insight into the leadership, culture, employee development and operating practices that make consistently excellent service possible.

In his final year with Walt Disney World, Dennis Snow’s leadership performance was ranked in the top 3% of the company’s leadership team, reflecting the depth of experience he had developed throughout his Disney career.

Creating a culture of service excellence

Dennis Snow also spent several years with the Disney University, where he taught Disney’s corporate philosophy and business practices to cast members and members of the leadership team. During this period, he coordinated the Disney Traditions program, widely recognized as a benchmark in corporate training.

This experience strengthened Dennis’ understanding of the connection between customer experience and employee experience. Exceptional service does not happen by accident. It requires employees to understand what the organization stands for, leaders to reinforce those expectations and systems that support people in delivering the desired experience consistently.

That perspective remains central to Dennis Snow’s work today. His presentations help organizations look beyond isolated customer service techniques and consider how leadership, employee development and organizational culture influence every customer interaction.

Global consulting experience

Dennis launched a division of the Disney Institute responsible for consulting with some of the world’s largest organizations. Clients included ExxonMobil, AT&T, General Motors and Coca Cola. The division quickly became the fastest-growing venture within the Disney Institute and achieved repeat business of nearly 100%.

Through this work, Dennis presented to audiences in locations around the world, including South Africa, Australia, Mexico, England and Argentina. His international experience has given him the opportunity to explore service excellence across different organizations, industries and audiences while maintaining a clear focus on practical principles that can be applied in everyday business.

Today, Dennis works full-time as a speaker, trainer and consultant. His clients have included organizations such as:

  • American Express
  • Johns Hopkins Medicine
  • ExxonMobil
  • Nationwide

His work focuses on helping organizations achieve goals connected to customer service, employee development and leadership.

Practical lessons for organizations

When you book speaker Dennis Snow for your event, audiences gain insights shaped by years of practical experience inside one of the world’s best-known service organizations. Dennis understands service from multiple perspectives: as a front-line employee, an operational leader, a corporate trainer and an international consultant.

This allows him to connect customer service principles with the realities of running an organization. His approach explores what leaders can do to establish clear expectations, how employees can be equipped to deliver excellent experiences and why organizational practices need to support the service promise.

Dennis Snow’s presentations are particularly relevant for organizations that want to strengthen their customer experience, create greater consistency in service delivery, develop employees or improve leadership practices. His experience provides audiences with a clear connection between service excellence and the internal culture that makes it sustainable.

Author and customer service expert

Beyond his speaking, training and consulting work, Dennis Snow has shared his expertise through books, articles and media appearances. His articles have appeared in a number of industry publications, and he has been featured as a guest expert on customer service across several business news-talk radio shows.

Keynote by Dennis Snow:

Delivering World-Class Customer Service: Lessons From The Mouse

Customers have more choices than ever, with the result that most products and services are increasingly seen as commodities. So, in today’s market, what can an organization do to stand out from the crowd?

Differentiating your service is the key to attracting and retaining customers – while driving bottom line results. More than ever customers are focused on value - what you can do that other organizations cannot or will not do. Customers want to know that you are focused on earning their ongoing loyalty.

Based on his 20-years with the Walt Disney World Company along with many years of consulting with organizations around the world, Dennis Snow will provide a “how-to” program for creating a service-driven culture.

This program will provide you with strategic tools that can be used to raise the bar of service throughout your organization, resulting in “walk-through-fire” customer loyalty.

Participants will learn:

  • Approaches that help your employees move from a task mindset to an experience mindset.
  • A process for ensuring that your organization’s “backstage” environment never impacts the “onstage” customer experience.
  • Four specific strategies for wowing customers every time.
  • A mechanism for ensuring that your organization’s processes are designed through the “lens of the customer.”

Leading a Culture of Service Excellence: Lessons From The Mouse

Note: This program is a natural follow-up to Delivering World-Class Customer Service or can be delivered as a standalone program.

In today’s competitive market, developing a service excellence strategy is an important part of any leader’s role. Beyond developing the strategy, however, there is the challenge of executing the plan. It’s in the execution that service excellence strategies become a reality or simply another “flavor-of-the-month” program.

Employees watch to see how committed the organization truly is to customer service and take their cues directly from their leaders. In order to effectively implement an organization-wide service excellence strategy, today’s leaders must rely on the skills of a facilitator and idea champion and must walk the talk of service excellence.

Based on the leadership principles Dennis learned, lived, and taught during his 20-years with Walt Disney World, this presentation highlights specific leadership behaviors that bring a service strategy to life and describes how to “hardwire” service excellence into an organization’s culture.

Participants will learn:

  • The behaviors that will define your organization’s service culture.
  • Hiring processes that ensure that service-oriented individuals are recruited and selected for employment.
  • New-hire and ongoing training practices that reinforce your organization’s service culture.
  • Effective communications strategies that keep employees focused on the customer experience.
  • Techniques for involving employees in the forward movement of the organization and empowering customer-focused decision making.
  • Accountability processes that ensure that service excellence is non-negotiable.
