Francis Louise (Lu) Parker is a television journalist, Miss USA winner, and motivational speaker. She began her career as an English literature teacher and later landed a television job with WCSC in South Carolina. San Antonio’s KABB offered Parker a reporter and weekend anchor position. By 2000, the station promoted her to the main anchor. In 2005, she joined KTLA in Los Angeles as co-anchor with Frank Buckley. Parker has attained acting roles and appeared on E! and Larry King Live. In partnership with Maria Shriver, KTLA developed an inspirational web show featuring Parker, called

In 1994, she competed in the Miss USA pageant and later reached the top six finalists for the Miss Universe Pageant.
