Book Áine Maher for your event

Áine Maher is a neurocognitive leadership consultant, writer, speaker, facilitator and consultant working with global organisations across a wide range of industries. Her work brings together neuroscience, psychology and leadership to help organisations create environments where better decisions, stronger relationships and healthier workplace cultures become everyday practice.

Drawing on professional, educational and personal experience, Áine connects with audiences through engaging and practical presentations that make complex scientific concepts accessible. Her sessions are designed to inspire action, equipping leaders and teams with tools they can immediately apply to their work. Whether speaking to executives, managers or entire organisations, she demonstrates how understanding the brain can transform the way people think, communicate and collaborate.

The central theme running through all of Áine's work is enabling better decision-making. By encouraging people to pause, reflect and approach challenges with greater empathy for themselves and others, she helps organisations respond more effectively to the growing complexity of today's working world.

Áine Maher on neurocognitive leadership

Áine's consultancy focuses on the intersection of cognitive leadership principles and the organisational application of behavioural neuroscience and psychology. She explores how scientific understanding of the brain can strengthen leadership development, improve organisational performance and support sustainable behavioural change.

Her keynote presentations and workshops examine topics including leadership development, mental wellbeing, inclusion and belonging, and the human cognitive capabilities needed to succeed alongside artificial intelligence. Rather than viewing AI as a replacement for people, Áine highlights the uniquely human capabilities organisations must continue to develop, including empathy, judgement, adaptability and thoughtful decision-making.

By combining research with practical business experience, she helps organisations understand how cognitive science can be applied to everyday workplace challenges.

From neuropsychology to global organisations

Áine's career began in neuropsychology, working as a technician in a start-up where she supported both clinical populations and peak performers through a brain-training programme focused on behavioural change. This early experience reinforced her belief that understanding how the brain works has a profound impact on how people perform, learn and interact throughout their daily lives.

She later transitioned into the corporate world, specialising in People Operations and employee experience within a major global technology company. During this time, she became actively involved in leading the employee network dedicated to disability, mental health and neurodiversity, giving her valuable insight into creating more inclusive and supportive workplaces.

Alongside her professional experience, Áine continued her academic development and graduated with distinction from the MSc in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at King's College London. Her combination of scientific education and practical organisational experience gives audiences confidence that her insights are grounded in both research and real-world application.

Inclusion, wellbeing and the future of work

As organisations continue to adapt to rapid technological and cultural change, Áine helps leaders understand the human factors that drive sustainable success. Her work explores how psychological safety, inclusion, belonging and mental wellbeing influence performance, innovation and organisational resilience.

She encourages organisations to develop environments where people feel equipped to contribute their best thinking while maintaining healthy cognitive performance. Her approach demonstrates that understanding how people think, learn and respond under pressure creates stronger leaders, more engaged teams and more effective organisations.

Áine also explores the relationship between people and artificial intelligence, helping audiences identify the distinctly human strengths that become even more valuable as AI becomes increasingly integrated into the workplace.
