The Nordic Schools

We have had a fantastic time today with The Nordic Schools. It has been great to have our teachers and leaders reflect on their own practice, sharing their experiences and looking at ways to improve their teaching and school management!

The workshop was extremely enlightening. We all have clear take aways on how to implement the Nordic Ways in our schools. We must work more with relationship building and forming an even stronger community between teachers, students and parents.

The gentlemen from Nordic Schools have made us reflect upon what we do well as school leaders and teachers in our schools. And they have provided us with inspiration on how to work a lot more with social and emotional learning. On top of that they are really entertaining.

The key selling point for me from a school leader's point of view was the chance to look at a different approach to education and use what I saw to help me reflect on what we do in the UK. Your workshop really helped with this especially by going through the various levels (Environment, behaviour, beliefs, etc.) For me your Nordic Model was a fantastic tool in reviewing current practice and this is something I want to explore further with my team.

With ease, humour and challenge Casper met the all our learning objectives. During the whole session there was an active buzz in the room as colleagues were challenged to think about why they came into teaching, what their core beliefs were and getting back to them. The presentation was well balanced between evidence, slide presentation and group discussion. I personally took away from the presentation, my teaching compass rebalanced and supported with evidence and the confidence to say relationships and being ready to learn are key to teaching and caring for the pupils in our schools.
