Alexandre Bilodeau grew up in Rosemère, Quebec and first fell in love with freestyle skiing when he saw fellow Canadian Jean-Luc Brassard win Gold in Lillehammer in 1994. At only age 14, Alexandre became the top Canadian junior in freestyle.

Despite his many successes, Alexandre’s career was not always tinged with glory. When he was faced with circumstances where most would have quit, he rolled up his sleeves and worked even harder to become the best athlete he could possibly be. Alexandre finds inspiration in his brother, Frederic, who suffers from cerebral palsy and when Alexandre share his own personal story, he explains the values that took him to the highest peaks in world of sports, in every sense.

In 2010, Alexandre became the first Canadian athlete to win an Olympic gold medal on Canadian soil as part of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games in footsteps of his idol, Jean-Luc Brassard. When it came to the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia, Alexandre showed fierce determination to defend his title and in the process became the first repeat Canadian Olympic Champion.

In his last season, prior to his retirement, Alexandre maintained his unquestionable drive for success finishing second in the first three World Cups in Finland, Calgary and Deer Valley. He then went on to win at Deer Valley, Lake Placid and Val-St-Côme. At the very last event of his career, Alexandra also achieved the top step of the podium at his last World Cup event at La Plagne in France, retiring from professional skiing at the age of 26.

Following his retirement from skiing, Alexandre has been studying accounting and has been starting his business career.
