Keynote speaker Lawrence Leyton has been studying the intricacies of Motivation and how to apply it in the workplace all his life. What he discovered, and now teaches, are a set of mind-tools guaranteed to ignite and invigorate the fire and passion in your workforce.

‘THE MAESTRO OF MOTIVATION’

It’s the one thing all businesses absolutely MUST have to generate profits, stay competitive and keep their staff working effectively.

That secret ingredient is MOTIVATION.

It’s not taught much in MBA programmes or Management Training Courses, because it’s such an intangible thing to get to grips with and understand.

But one man who knows more about it than almost anyone is Lawrence Leyton.

Lawrence Leyton has been studying the intricacies of Motivation and how to apply it in the workplace all his life. What he discovered, and now teaches, are a set of mind-tools guaranteed to ignite and invigorate the fire and passion in your workforce.

In fact, Lawrence Leyton has been so successful in what he does; he’s helped over 500 companies around the world (major blue-chip names like: Microsoft, AstraZeneca, Kimberly Clarke, Vodafone, AMP, The Prudential, Provident, Lombard, HSBC plus many others) to change the mind-sets of their staff and turn them into peak performers and high achievers.

Savvy companies like these understand the value Lawrence’s entertaining, engaging, but serious messages bring to their business.

He’s so sought after; he’s appeared as a regular guest on many prime-time TV and radio shows including Richard and Judy and Russell Brand.

He was even snapped up by ITV and Channel 4 to demonstrate his unique skills in three of his own TV specials, one being the popular peak-time Channel 4 show “Fear of Flying”.

He is also a very successful entrepreneur in his own right, having founded Optimum Health Centres, which has been one of the fasted growing family wellness clinics in the UK, as well as founder of a large London based investment company for corporations and high net worth individuals.

With his business experience and literally thousands of major stage appearances under his belt, you know you’re in safe hands as Lawrence tailors the speech for the theme of the conference or the message you’re trying to get across.

“Breaking Bad” is a process that will break any self-imposed barrier so you can achieve the results that you deserve.

Interview with Lawrence Leyton

What is the message you hope people take away from your presentations?

I think it is very important to have practical take-away tools that each delegate can use rather than simply a rousing message. I actually teach each delegate a set of extremely powerful mind tools that they can use not only in their business environment but also personally and this is why I think delegates connect with them so well. I am really teaching people how to run their brain’s more effectively. So instead of letting their brain run them, they will have the ability to take control and run it themselves.

So many times our own self destructive internal dialogue can talk us out of doing something because of our fear of failure so we are not even prepared to try something new just in case we fail, or we can literally talk ourselves into negatives states of mind, but what I teach people is that we are actually in control of all of this and therefore we have the ability to change it.

How do you prepare for speaking engagements?

I like to have an understanding of who my audience is and what they do day to day, so I can show them how my mind tools best fit their environment. Most of this preparation comes from a briefing call with the client weeks before the speaking engagement.

What do you gain personally from being a public speaker?

I have been on stage all my life in one form or another, so it is my home. Speaking is just an extension of this and because now I am fully equipped with some amazing techniques to literally change people’s lives, so it is a real buzz to hear the positive feedback personally from the delegates telling me how important it is for them, to have learnt these techniques from me etc.

How much does humor factor into your keynotes and other speaking engagements?

Humor is a vital factor in my speaking, as you have to be able to engage and hold an audience. But I not only use humor, I use all manner of interesting interactive tools to connect with my audience, from optical illusions, board breaks, psychological stunts and even a magic illusion!  My presentation uses audience participation and is super interactive. It is designed to leave the audience on an extreme high!

What are some common factors that tend to hold people back from success?

I would say the biggest one is ‘Fear of Failure’, as people get scared to even try new things just in case they fail, so they don’t even bother to try as failure for them = pain. So they are moving away from the possible pain of failure.

How are your keynote presentations unique?

I think for the factors mentioned above: I use all manner of interesting interactive tools to connect with my audience, from optical illusions, board breaks, psychological  stunts and even a magic illusion!  My presentation uses audience participation and is super interactive. It is designed to leave the audience on an extreme high!

Do you have any unique memorable moments in your speaking career?

I have many but speaking for some of the members of the royal family was one and being on Japanese TV where everything was translated was another, to doing a conference on board a ship where I had to climb up the side of the ship on a rope ladder to get on board because the sea was too rough for the ship to dock!

Do you have some tips for engaging and motivating a workforce?

Motivation in reality comes from within oneself. It all depends on what state of mind you are dwelling on at the time. Our state of mind changes rapidly every moment of the day, so if you are in a negative state that means you are dwelling on those negative thoughts. In other words you are subconsciously choosing and controlling that state.

There are 3 factors that control your state of mind, once you understand what they are you can then learn to override any negative state and create positive ones and this is how you ultimately motivate yourself. And this is what every delegate will learn by the time I have left the room!
