Our experienced, passionate and eloquent speaker Tim Bean is a graduate of the Bill Gove Corporate Speakers Programme (USA). He has the ability to instantly connect with an audience. His wisdom, expertise, reputation and credibility help professional men and women get stronger, healthier and happier for the right reasons and, in doing so, raise their professional game and the productivity and performance of the organisations they work for.

The keynote speaker Tim Bean is a Corporate Longevity Specialist™ – a Transformational & After-Dinner Speaker who regularly presents to business organisations and at high-profile conferences and events. Referred to as “The Merciless Mr Bean”, Tim, whose clients include prominent business people and celebrities, is a compelling and highly engaging speaker who challenges, informs, incites and inspires audiences around with the world with his profound message – “Anyone can boost energy, engagement and performance by being in better shape. People who are in better shape are less stressed and perform better for longer – and so do their companies”

His speaking style is full-on, direct and enthusiastic and he injects his quirky sense of humour and energy into all his presentations. His powerful ‘merciless’ persona commands attention and respect. Tim has been called one of the most professional and engaging speakers of our time and his keynotes are often the highlight of any event.

“This is no longer a discretionary topic”, says Tim. “It is a vital tool in business for the survival and retention of your top talent. It is the missing link between traditional wellness solutions and the actual health, performance and longevity of your leadership teams. Not exposing your key earners to this message at your next corporate event would be as fundamental an omission as sending a soldier into battle with all the best training, skills and equipment, but with no food or water!”

Our passionate speaker Tim Bean is a formidable thought-leader on optimal wellness. Native from New Zealand, he now lives in the UK with his business partner, Anne Laing, a former National Physique Champion, wellness expert & author.

Tim Bean has not always enjoyed such great health. Consulting his Doctor for some underlying health issues at the age of 25, Tim was told that he would not see past the age of 30 unless he radically adjusted his approach to nutrition and exercise.

It was at this point he made the seriousness commitment to focus on his health, physique and better eating. In doing so he turned his body and his life around. Tim knows what it feels like to live in an overweight and dysfunctional body.

Now known in London’s social circles as “The Merciless Mr Bean”, our speaker Tim Bean recently co-hosted Channel 4’s internationally acclaimed TV series Turn Back Your Body Clock, and their latest book, “Turn Back Your Age Clock” has just been released. For 17 years prior to this Tim, together with his wife and business partner, Anne, has been co-owner of a large health and wellness club, and hosted a weekly radio show on health, personal performance, training, nutrition, weight loss, de-stressing and de-ageing strategies.

As well as guiding an exclusive list of private individuals and celebrities through personal physique makeovers, they have recently extended the operations of their business, London’s Institute of Physique Management, to lead executives and senior management teams through a bespoke corporate longevity programme called “The Hard Edge”.

The Hard Edge™ has established an enviable reputation for consistently producing dramatic and sustainable results in people who struggle to balance highpressure, high-performance careers with a healthy and happy home and personal lifestyle. This enables their clients to live and perform at a higher level, for longer.

They also work in partnership with the Physician to the Royal Households and other high-profile medical and health professionals.

Interview with Tim Bean

What is the message you hope people take away from your presentations?
That staying in great shape is as important as anything else in their lives, and that it’s never too late, or too early, to turn things around and get your health on target.  I want people to go away thinking, “He’s right – I have no answer for that…!”, and taking action as a result.

What is the feeling you would like people to take away?
Confidence, hope, energy, determination, belief.

How do you prepare for speaking engagements?
Research the host company/organisation, profile of audience (Numbers, gender mix, age range, seniority), meet with the person who commissioned the event to find out their motivation and desired outcomes, and what they want their people to gain from listening to my presentation.

What do you gain personally from being a public speaker?
Not much, but I do gain tremendous satisfaction when people tell me months (and sometimes years) later how what they heard and learned has changed their lives or businesses for the better

How much does humor factor into your keynotes and other speaking engagements?
Quite a bit – I’m a trained stand-up comic, and using the science and craft of comedic writing to bring life to my presentations is a strong element.  It’s also a way of softening what can be a very challenging message for many people

How do you use your own story to inspire others?
It’s a story that illustrates a true understanding of the problems and excuses, and realistic ways to achieve optimal health and long life

How are your keynote presentations unique?
It’s not a topic that’s widely covered in the corporate domain, yet is crucially important. People can have a laugh about a subject that’s deadly serious. I think I have a depth of experience and credibility in this subject area that others may not. I talk about things that others seldom cover, in a language that cuts through the fluff.

Do you have any unique memorable moments in your speaking career?
Last month I was due to speak at an event in Christchurch, New Zealand. After driving 150 km to get there, we discovered the hotel had been overbooked and there were no rooms available anywhere. Went to a friends house, but they were away, so I ended up jumping their fence and getting changed into my suit on their back lawn, cleaning my teeth by their garden tap and fighting their bull terrier for the return of my totally shredded tie! (The keynote went flawlessly, by-the-way…!)

Can you give three tips for healthy lifestyle changes?

  • Lifts weights – strong people stay young
  • Macro/binge strategies don’t work – it’s the little things you do each day that make the biggest difference in the long term.
  • “Observe the masses and do the opposite” – Walt Disney
